Publisher Elden Ring offers suggestions to gamers if they find the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC too difficult
Bandai Namco offers suggestions for Elden Ring gamers if they find the newly released Shadow of the Erdtree DLC too difficult.
The Shadow of the Erdtree expansion pack of the blockbuster Elden Ring has been out for 2 days. Despite excellent reviews and currently the game with the highest Metacritic score of the year, the DLC’s Steam reviews are extremely negative. One of the reasons is that the difficulty of the DLC is too high and unbalanced.
Seemingly understanding this, publisher Bandai Namco has given suggestions to gamers who are struggling with the expansion. Accordingly, the advice given is to upgrade Scadutree Blessings. This is originally an element only found in Shadow of the Erdtree, upgrading it is quite similar to in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice when the player needs to defeat the boss to upgrade the ability to attack and withstand attacks. FromSoftware has also suggested this before to avoid players transferring to DLC with too high a level from the original game, leading to imbalance.
Currently, this feedback is not being received very positively by the community. Many gamers, including major streamers and YouTubers, say open-world games like Elden Ring should allow players to freely choose between main missions and side missions rather than being forced to plow through all the side bosses to get upgraded fragments. grants such Scadutree Blessings. It must also be emphasized that many players may have played the game many times and reached NG+6 or 7, causing the difficulty to be too brutal when they move on to the DLC.
In the short term, FromSoftware may re-balance the difficulty level in the near future, similar to the original game.
